Trying to dry out!

Work has moved on at a pace at Kilnhurst. As you can see from the photos below the school has been completely stripped back to ensure there is no trace of contaminants and to support the drying out process.

Storm Carina brought new anxieties for us last week as again the waters rose, they didn’t breach the site but contractors had to be called in to move equipment from the area outside the school.

We are working with the Environment Agency and Insurance company to secure some flood mitigation solutions as part of the ongoing work.

All of the Kilnhurst children have been housed at Swinton Fitzwilliam since January, following the installation of 3 temporary classrooms.

As ever staff, parents and children at both schools have been incredibly supportive.
