Job Title: KS2Teaching Assistant (TA)

Salary: Band D5 £12,456 (Pay Award Pending)

Hours: 22.5hrs Monday – Friday 9.30am – 14:30pm, Term Time Only + 2 Inset Days

Contract: Fixed Term, initially for 12 months (22.5 hours per week, Term Time Only)

The role will involve working with Year 5/6 primarily, however, you would be expected to work across all age groups with children with a range of needs to support teaching and learning, with a particular focus on Early Reading .

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant who can demonstrate that they:

  • will be committed to our school and Trust vision and values
  • will be driven, proactive, and positive with a commitment to continuously improving their own standards
  • are an excellent practitioner who is competent in literacy and numeracy
  • have a knowledge and understanding of phonics and early reading
  • can motivate and inspire children as active learners
  • hold children and adults with unconditional positive regard at all times
  • can build positive professional relationships with all pupils and staff
  • are able to work independently and as part of a team with initiative
  • are punctual, energetic, well-motivated and flexible.

Duties will include:

  • enhancing learning in the class, with small groups and on a one-to-one basis
  • delivering interventions to meet the needs of pupils, including those with SEND and SEMH needs
  • supporting the children’s social and emotional well being
  • supporting the teacher to ensure our pupils get the best teaching and learning on a daily basis.
  • Lunchtime supervision
